Ski operations until 3 May 2026
If you really want to ski again in April, then Obertauern in SalzburgerLand is the right place for you! The Tauernrunde can be skied in its entirety until April. You can find an overview of all open lifts here. And if you still haven't had enough, numerous lifts are available until 1 May. You can hire the perfect equipment from our well-equipped ski shops until the end of the season.

We have enough snow for everyone!
Obertauern is Austria's snowiest winter sports resort – and this has even been proven! According to a study published in 2016 by Tyrolean ski tourism researcher Günther Aigner, Obertauern leads the ranking of the seven snowiest winter sports resorts in Austria with an average maximum snow depth of 264 centimetres. The abundant natural snow is due to a special weather constellation in the Tauern mountains, where snow clouds from the north and south meet and spread the white flakes over Obertauern.
In recent years, we have always enjoyed the best snow conditions, especially in April.

Thanks to the temperatures, the pistes are still in top condition in spring. As it is often still cold at night, the pistes warm up well and in the morning you can enjoy crisp and harder pistes that offer plenty of space for perfect turns. For those who haven't skied enough yet: in the afternoon, the sun transforms the compact pistes into fantastic firn runs.

Numerous ski huts invite you to sit on the terrace on sunny days. You will be spoilt with traditional dishes, regional products and homemade Schnaps. For the party animals among us, some ski huts offer the best après-ski parties to dance along to.
