Austria's biggest treasure hunt in the snow – this is how you find the key to your brand new BMW.
Armed with a small garden shovel, which each participant receives at the start, around 1,200 treasure hunters enter an area the size of a football field. But luck is already needed from the very beginning, as participants enter the search area strictly according to the starting numbers drawn the day before. The “Gold Diggers” have 2.5 hours to dig through the entire area in search of more than 30 valuable treasure chests. As soon as a treasure chest is discovered, the lucky finder is escorted by security personnel to the notary waiting outside the search area.
The notary ensures that each treasure chest is safely stored until it is opened during the subsequent awards ceremony and that every chest remains clearly assigned to its finder. Each chest contains a prize worth at least €1,000. Once all the treasure chests have been opened and the brand-new BMW has been handed over to its new owner, the exciting day comes to an end with an aftershow party and live concert.
