Leisure & Wildlife Park Untertauern

The Leisure & Wildlife Park in Untertauern is a popular excursion destination in the Salzburg region. Covering an area of 11 hectares, the park is home to around 40 wild animals living in spacious open enclosures. Memorable encounters with deer, stags, geese, ponies, mouflons and many other animals are guaranteed – an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.Right next to the wildlife park, you’ll find a leisure park for the whole family, which can also be visited free of charge during the summer. 

Children especially will love the adventure area in Untertauern. There’s plenty to discover, including a fishing pond, a stilt house, a large playground with a Tarzan zipline and a digger, as well as a petting zoo. Here, our youngest visitors can meet a variety of small animals such as rabbits, chickens, ducks, beavers, goats and llamas.

Winter hiking in the wildlife park

In addition to numerous opportunities for varied winter walks – such as the circular trail around the wildlife enclosure with views into the impressive Taurach Gorge or the Taurach winter hiking trail towards Radstadt – the Untertauern wildlife park also offers a cozy stop at the rustic wildlife park hut. Additional variety is provided by an ice stock sport lane, a small toboggan run, as well as direct access to the Tauern cross-country ski trail (50 km).
