Summer programme 2021

Once again this year the weekly summer programme of events for young and old alike is making a return. You have the chance to explore our mountains & lakes, investigate in the forest and much more from Monday to Sunday (21 June until 19 September 2021). 

MONDAY

ALL AROUND THE TAUERNPASS – EXPLORATION TOUR | 10AM TO 2PM

Your entire family hikes from Flubachalm up to Grünwaldsee (1st lake). Then we continue from Hochalm to Krummschnabelsee (2nd lake) and then we go on to Hundsfeldsee (3rd lake) before we come back to the centre of Obertauern.

TUESDAY

Early Bird | 7.15AM TO 9AM

At dawn we follow the historic Römerweg from Untertauern to the Gnadenalm. Deep forests, rushing streams and romantic alpine pastures adorn this unique part of the trail. This vitality-hike ends at the Gnadenalm, the perfect starting point for an eventful day full of energy.

WATER HIKING TOUR TO THE JOHANNES WATERFALL | 1.30PM TO 4.30PM

We stroll along the Taurauch river towards Felseralm, from where we descend to the impressive Johanneswaterfall.

WEDNESDAY

WHERE THE MARMOTS LIVE | 9AM TO 3PM

A sporty, guided hike across Seekarscharte, followed by a stop at the Oberhütte lodge. Participants need sturdy shoes and have to be in good physical shape!

SURVIVAL IN THE WILDERNESS | 10AM TO 12.30PM

We experience mountains and nature in a different light and become aware of potential dangers on this short hike. How to build an emergency shelter, keep your bearings, read tracks, and recognise alpine dangers make this child-friendly workshop particularly interesting.

HIGH ON THE ROPE | 1PM TO 3PM

Here, the whole family learns how to use climbing equipment in a playful way. Prove your courage and skill in the child-friendly high ropes course under the supervision of qualified climbing guides as you enjoy the magnificent panorama.

Price: € 12 per person

THURSDAY

LIVING ON ALPINE PASTURES | 9AM TO 3PM

We hike along the sunny side to Twenger Alm. When we arrive up there the Alpine herdsman and dairyman will show us how our well-deserved snacks were painstakingly made by hand. Before we head back we can refresh ourselves in the cool Twenger Almsee lake. On the way back, we will pass the „Tauern Genussladen“ with its „Tauernbrennerei“, which is well worth seeing.

FRIDAY

HERBAL WALK with nini | 10AM TO NOON

Which edible herbs grow in Obertauern? Experience Obertauern’s wide range of meadow herbs and learn how to use them in the kitchen, for your health, and your personal care.

MYTHICAL HIKE | 1.30PM TO 3PM

The mystical, exposed surroundings of Obertauern have enchanted people for centuries and written many stories. This hike invites you to hear, see, feel, and retell the legends that have been passed down for generations.

Meetping point: Passhöhe

 

MOUNTAIN YOGA with nini | 4.30PM TO 5.30PM

Together we will find our centre through regenerative movements, controlled breathing, and Obertauern’s calming nature.
You can register for this course until Thursday 6pm.

Saturday

TWENG’S WILD LANTSCHFELD | 10.30AM TO 12.30PM

On this unique family-hike you will learn how water and valleys influence nature as well as life in the mountains. Tweng Lantschfeld is known for its wilderness that definitely merits a closer look. We start directly in Tweng at the municipal office. This is where this circular route will also end again.

SUNDAY

FAMILY HIKE TO "MÄRCHEN LAKE" | 10AM TO 2PM

Family is the most important thing in life. Spend some time with you loved ones on this hike to Märchen Lake. This hiking experience takes approximately four hours with lots of time for fun and games.

Meeting point: Parking by B99 Gnadenalm
