In the heart of the Austrian Alps, deeply hidden from the public eye, there exists a secret ministry known to only a few insiders. A ministry that decides the fate of the winter season in the country – the secret Ministry of Snow Security. At its head stands a man of great determination, who vigilantly ensures that his winter sports resorts are supplied with enough snow: Minister Mining Councillor honoris causa Alois Westhamthaler. With his dubious experts, he tries every year, sometimes in a ruthless manner, to make sure the cash register rings loudly for him during the winter season. But this time, they have miscalculated without the chief lift operator Johnny Schneeweiß!

Bergrat honoris causa Alois Westhamthaler has not been Minister for Snow Security for long, but has been in Austrian politics for a long time.
He knows how important snow is for his region. His family members, as bankers, have always had great influence. With the help of the big silver spoon, Alois has also come far. What cannot be regulated by laws and words is settled by good old money. But if the snow does not come, the problem he and his ministry now face cannot be solved with money, words, or outbursts of anger.

Johnny Schneeweiß, is a lift operator in the sixth generation. When he is not busy ensuring a smooth ski day for his guests, he loves telling tourists stories about Austria's snowiest winter sports resort.

Leberkäse is not just a simple food intake for him, but a religion. He can proudly claim to have tried over 300 different Leberkäse varieties in various butcher shops
across Austria.

Melanie feels at home in the mountains. She dropped out of her geography studies after falling in love with the mountains during a field trip to Austria. Meanwhile, she is an experienced ski guide of the "old school." At the Ministry for Snow Safety, she hopes to further expand her influence and would do almost anything to climb higher in the hierarchy.

Chief Inspector Plamberger would like to be a daredevil, but in the end, he only became a post commander. The only time when things really happen is the ski season, which he always looks forward to with great joy. Lost ski equipment, bar fights, and tourists stuck in the snow without snow chains.<\/p>

Sibylle, 35, ambitious, Master in Tourism Management, has hoped since taking the position of chief assistant to the Minister for Snow Security to gain the necessary impulses to finally lead a more adventurous life. Although her idea of adventure is actually limited to wearing her hair down on a Tuesday instead of in a strict ponytail, she will soon experience an adventure whose dimensions she could not have imagined before.

Confessor Balthasar only found God in his later years. Fleeing from his former gambling addiction, he found refuge in a quiet little village. Only around Christmas time, when it snows outside, is his church really well attended. Otherwise, especially on warmer days, the church is rather empty except for a few old people. The pastor dreads this boredom, as then his gambling addiction threatens to return. In recent weeks, he has already caught himself tossing coins.
